|description =

−
Centaurs are a race of woodland beings which are part human and part horse.

−
They have the upper torso, arms, and head of a human, and the lower body of

−
a large, powerful horse.  Centaurs are considered primitive by many

−
'civilized' races, as their society is tribal and very animistic.  They

−
are, however, some of the most competent bowmen and hunters in the realm.

−

−
Their horse bodies are strong and healthy, though they can be awkward in

−
tight spaces.  Centaurs are at home in the open grasslands, hills, and

−
forests, and they fight well there; they get uncomfortable when they can't

−
see the sky.

−

−
Because of their body structure, centaurs cannot wear boots or most normal

−
metal body armour.  Suits of centaur-shaped barding can be found or forged,

−
however, as can horseshoes.

−

−
Their strong association with the natural world leaves centaurs with a set

−
of bones and hooves that weaken quickly after death.

−

−
As half-horse creatures, centaur have a number of advantages.  Their strong

−
backs are suitable for carrying extra gear, as well as riders - centaurs

−
can 'permit' almost anyone with the ride skill to mount up on their backs.

−
Their extra legs give them the leverage needed to wield large (two-handed)

−
weapons in one hand.  They sometimes use those same legs to attack, getting

−
extra hoof-strikes on their opponents.  Lastly, centaurs are natural

−
runners, and can often keep running even when wounded.
