For a&lt;br&gt;brief period during which the stone is cooling down from use&lt;br&gt;the stone retains a dwindling, single link to the location from&lt;br&gt;which it was previously used. Focusing on this link allows the&lt;br&gt;stonebearer to return to where they had left in those fleeting&lt;br&gt;moments prior. As the stone disperses the extra energy, the link&lt;br&gt;grows weaker and eventually severs itself.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;tl;dr&lt;br&gt;hearth return will return you to the last place you hearthed _from_ while the hearthstone is on cooldwn for a fee.
